Business Buildings Buildings can produce goods, services, or a combination of both, depending on how they are built. A new building starts with one empty room. Empty rooms can be used for storage. In order to create any type of goods, a room must be equipped to produce that type of goods (food, machinery, etc), and have an appropriately skilled employee working. Up to 5 employees can be working in a room at the same time. Upgrading equipment costs $500 for level 1, then $1000 x current level for each additional level up to 5. Upgrading equipment allows for the production of more complex and higher quality products. Additional rooms cost $1000 each, and take 40 production hours to make.
Example: Demetrius has a small fire arms workshop. It is a one room shop with level 2 equipment and 5 employees with crafts level 1. Level 2 equipment (rifle) takes 2 production hours per unit. Therefore, if each employee worked for 8 hours a day, they would be paid $80 each and produce 4 units. The total for the day would be 20 rifles and $400 in wages.
