The dim light of the clinic illuminated the room. Hard to call this place a clinic, more like a butcher's shop with medical supplies. The uninsulated room did little to shield the inside from the coming winter chill. With a light shiver the man tosses on a doctor's coat. Grabbing one of the few books there, a rare sight in this day and age. "Hmm Grey's Anatomy. Should keep me busy for a few days." As he thumbed through a few pages two men burst in.
"Hey Doc, we need your help. My Buddy's been stabbed."
The man looked up from his book and smiled "Of course I can help you. Prop him up on the table and I'll get some supplies." Going into the storage room. "Lets see gonna need something to cut the clothes." Glancing down he clapped his hands "oh perfect! Fabric sheers". Leaning down to a corpse dressed in medical scrubs. A gun a few inches away. The stranger plucks a pair of scissors from the eye socket. "You are so helpful. Were you a tailor before becoming a doctor? That sounds like a fun career change."
Returning to the patient and cutting open his pants to expose the knife wound. "Hmm its right next to a major artery. " Grabbing the knife and yanking it out. The patient screaming out as blood quickly rushes out. "Oh I guess the pressure of the knife was slowing the bleeding."
His friend yelling at the man "WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR ARE YOU"
"An inexperienced one apparently. I wonder if the book has anything on stopping bleeding" Picking up the medical text. Before it was slapped down onto the floor
"Forget your book! He nee-" his words silenced by a pair of scissors through his throat. Nothing but a gargled stutter coming out.
"I was reading that, but you know you are right. Books only do so much." A wide toothy grin growing on his face. Holding up the knife he plucked from the man bleeding out next to them. "I should get some hands on experience. Raise my skill. After all, you did say I was the doctor right?"
